Ask Slippery: Here are the Answers!

Hey, guys! Slip here.

A better way to celebrate my birthday is to share it with you guys. I’m really sorry if it took so long, but it’s going to be worth it, right? With no further ado, here are the answers to the questions you asked me! Hope you’ll enjoy it.

Cuddly Knuckle asked: What is your favorite Poptropica island?
Slippery Raptor: My all-time favorite would be Mystery Train Island. I like the gameplay and it has a great story. I felt like I’m Sherlock on a train!

Ultimate iPad Expert asked: Aliens?
Slippery Raptor: Definitely.

Dangerous Eye asked: Do you reveal your (first) name on the internet? If you do, what is it?
Slippery Raptor: I revealed my first name on our Authors’ Hangout; but since it’s my birthday, it’s Gab. 🙂

Dangerous Eye asked: How old were you in the year you started playing Poptropica?
Slippery Raptor: I was around 8 years old when I first started playing Poptropica. It was fun!

Dangerous Eye asked: Which country do you live in?
Slippery Raptor: I currently live in the United Arab Emirates, but I’m from the Philippines.

Dangerous Eye asked: Do you think you’ll ever take those headphones off?
Slippery Raptor: Maybe not. Slippery won’t be Slippery if it wasn’t for the headphones.

Dangerous Eye asked: What’s your favorite costume, be it the costume of an NPC, fellow Poptropican or Store Item?
Slippery Raptor: My current favorite outfit would be the Fall Fashion outfit. I like plaid polos. 🙂

Dangerous Eye asked: Which island was the most difficult for you to beat?
Slippery Raptor: The hardest island I tried to beat was Skullduggery. I finished it years after I started playing it.

Dangerous Eye asked: How many medallions have you got?
Slippery Raptor: I currently have 55 island medallions. 🙂

Dangerous Eye asked: What’s your current credit count?
Slippery Raptor: I currently have 2400 Poptropica credits.

Dangerous Eye asked: What’s your greatest pet peeve?
Slippery Raptor: Slow WiFi connection. 😛

Dangerous Eye asked: Do you remember the craziest dream you’ve ever had?
Slippery Raptor: Craziest dreams would include being inside a video game, right?

Dangerous Eye asked: Any future occupations in mind?
Slippery Raptor: I would love to work in Poptropica! 🙂

Dangerous Eye asked: Do you think answering all these questions will amount to an entire biography?
Slippery Raptor: Maybe, but it’s only one-fourth of it. 😛

Cuddly Knuckle asked: Do you play other games besides Poptropica?
Slippery Raptor: I do play Club Penguin and Sims. 🙂

Thoughts on Poptropica’s 8th Birthday

Hey guys, Slip here.

Welcome to a new post! It’s been a while since we’ve had our community celebrity so why not have a new post? 🙂 Today, I’ll be leaving some brief thoughts on Poptropica’s birthday! I won’t let you wait any longer- here we go!

This year’s celebration was unique. It didn’t have a new birthday costume this year and  it mainly focused on Early Poptropica. They also had the race to Early Poptropica, which was opened to all, and offered 200 Poptropica credits for first-time completions. Poptropica also celebrated on Twitter by tagging #HBDPoptropica and retweeting tweets throughout the day! However, annual traditions such as the balloon hunt and the color-changing birthday balloon came back. I also like how Poptropica came up with a great theme along with the celebration! 🙂

Although, the party had a minor downside. The balloon hunt was too easy. When you enter any common room, you can easily find the 8th birthday balloon, which spoils its rarity and the challenge when it comes to finding it but overall, Poptropica made this one of the best and the most memorable birthday parties ever thrown. I landed first and had a fun time celebrating 8 years of our favorite game. 🙂

Community Celebrities: Mad Apper

Hey guys! Slip here.

We have a new celebrity! In case you’re new here, Community Celebrities is the newest segment in this blog where we feature different people from our community from time to time—like Brave Tomato!

Today, we have someone really unique from our community and he’s just starting things out in our community— so make sure to say hi! Since it’s still Poptropica’s 8th birthday, we’ll have 8 facts today! Poptropicans, here’s our newest community celebrity— Mad Apper!

  1. Well, aside from Poptropica, he plays “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” app. Sounds fun in Springfield. 🙂

2.  He’s a new player, the Mad Apper started playing Poptropica last summer 2014—through the Poptropica app! He also discovered our community a few months ago, so make sure to give him a warm welcome!

3. His favorite Poptropica Creator is Captain Crawfish. (Who can’t resist nomming him?) He likes how the Captain writes his posts and sometimes mimic his way of posting.

4. When it comes to his favorite island, it would be a tie between Arabian Nights Ep. 2: Lair of Thieves and Mythology Island. Good island choices!

5. Now to his favorite Poptropica item, he likes the Little Demon costume since it’s the Halloween season and it looks so despicable. 😈

The next three facts are from Mad Apper himself. What facts are in store for us?

6. Anything to ask or offer to Mad Apper? You can email him on 🙂

7. He has an active Poptropica blog—also run by WordPress—and it’s really great! You might want to check it out. 🙂

8. Last but not least, he’s a really unique player. He plays on the Poptropica app and not the online Poptropica! Crazy right?

That’s all of the facts from the Mad Apper! I’d like to thank him for letting me interview him and at the same time, I  We got to know him a little bit more. So, do you want to be the next community celebrity?

Community Celebrities: Brave Tomato

Hello Poptropicans!

Welcome to our newest segment here! It’s called Community Celebrities. Over the weeks, I will feature someone from the community and they can share 10 or more facts about them! 🙂

Today’s special guest is one of my friends over at the PHB. I thank her for accepting my invitation here and the facts she shared for all of us are very interesting! I hope through this, you’ll know her even more. No further ado, let’s welcome our first Community Celebrity— Brave Tomato!

1. Brave Tomato’s favorite island is Mythology Island. She liked this island because it inspired her to look further into Greek Mythology, the information this island had was useful to her, and this was her first island when she joined Poptropica!

2. Even though her favorite island is Mythology, her favorite villain is not Zeus. She said that it was Myron Van Buren from Survival Island. She said that MVB is a different Poptropica villain because he’s not after world domination or stuff like that but his goal IS YOU. She also noted that MVB fits her description for a perfect villain— scary and intimidating.

3. Among the items in the Poptropica Store, she thinks the best items are the Biker outfit and the Rock Star 2 costume for girls. Her star sticker and signature rocker girl look will never go out of style.

4. Brave Tomato’s favorite aspect of Poptropica is its island quests. For her, every island quest has something different to offer and she likes islands with a good story.

5. Brave Tomato worked on a lot of blogs before she became a part of the PHB. Her first blog is Super Thunder’s Blog (which was owned by a former PHB author and is now renamed as “It’s A Poptropica Blog“) and she was only 12! She was only with the community for a short period of time and she met new people with same interests! According to BT, she tried making her own blog twice but she ended up leaving them due to workload.

6. Other than Poptropica, she likes to play The Sims. She told me that she has The Sims 3 & 4, and has The Sims 2 when it was just free.

7. Aside from Poptropica, she likes to draw, write, and hangout with her friends. She occasionally doodles and sometimes they come out to be a larger scale drawings. She also has friends since the 1st grade, likes companies of friends and loves being creative when she’s alone.

8. If she would be given an offer to work at Poptropica, she would like to have a position in the character development/design or the script writing departments. A perfect fit for you, BT!

As for the last two facts, I gave her a chance to share something for us:

9. She is all over social media. Make sure to follow her on Twitter (@1313cookie), Tumblr and DeviantArt (1313cookie)! She also revisits islands on her YouTube channel (TheBraveTomato13) and make sure to check them out!

10. For the last fact, BT shared the story behind her username (1313cookie):

I came up with the username 1313cookie with my dad when I got a Nicktropolis account. 13 was a favorite number among my family, and then the cookie part came in because that was my nickname around the house since well, I loved chocolate chip cookies. That sounds good!

I’d like to thank Brave Tomato for doing this with me! At first, I thought BT was just an ordinary blogger; I was so wrong. She’s really awesome!

What’s your favorite fact about BT? Would you like to see more of these? Leave a comment!

P.S This is my last post for the summer. It’s my first day tomorrow. I’ll be very inactive but still there. 😛

Peace out. 😛
